Who we are

President’s Message

Dear Member:

As president of the New Brunswick Nurses Union, I have come to believe that our success as a labour organization will depend upon our ability to engage our members, motivate them to become involved and ensure that they are well informed about Union activities and goals.

Every new member receives a ‘New Member’s Kit’ which contains essential information on how the Union functions. Activists and members can stay up to date by visiting this website often and by reading the monthly NBNU ‘Nursing Matters’ e-newsletter.

The mission of the New Brunswick Nurses Union is to enhance the work-life balance as well as the social, economic and personal well-being of nurses. We are proud to be an open and democratic organization, mentoring leaders to meet today’s needs and tomorrow’s challenges.

Through the years, we’ve grown, not only in size, but also in experience and public recognition. NBNU believes in protecting our publicly funded healthcare system and ensuring all New Brunswickers have access to the best healthcare system possible. To achieve this goal, we need you to get involved, to speak out and to be proud of the work we do as unionized registered nurses and nurse practitioners.

The Union works for you and our greatest strength is solidarity – standing together through both good and bad times.

NBNU is here for you. If you have any questions or concerns, or if you wish to receive further information on the roles and responsibilities of your Union, please do not hesitate to contact me at 1.800.442.4914 or contact your local president.

Thank you all and keep up the excellent work.

In Solidarity,

Paula Doucet, President & RN
