Now into their 2nd winter on the picket line, members of the Halifax Typographical Union are approaching an unfortunate milestone: one year on strike, with little progress in negotiations with their employer, the Chronicle Herald.
This date also marks another important event for HTU members, as it is the day their unfair labour practices complaint against the Chronicle Herald will go before the labour board. The Union is accusing their employer of “insisting that anyone can do work normally assigned only to union members and of constantly pitching proposals that are intended to be rejected.”
HTU has developed informational materials to help bring the public up to speed on what has been a very tumultuous year of failed negotiations and disappointments. To learn more visit: http://bit.ly/2iSRFvHReturn home
