Every day the role of Registered Nurses includes the latest science and technology with a blend of caring and compassion to ensure their patients receive the best care possible. Registered Nurses work in all areas of health care.  One thing which is consistent, however, is the nursing process which is the core of how Registered nurses provide care.

The Nursing process includes 5 steps

• Assessment: collecting physical, psychological and socio-cultural data from the patient.
• Diagnosis: making judgements on the cause, condition and path of the illness.
• Planning: creating a care plan which sets specific care goals.
• Implementation: supervising or carrying out the actual treatment plan.
• Evaluation: continuous evaluation of the plan.
