NBNU, NBU and IBEW made a $20,000 donation to the Capital Fundraising Campaign for the Dalhousie Medical School to establish a Research Chair in Occupational Medicine in Saint John. The three unions, representing over 15,000 workers in the province, supported the campaign because more research is needed in the area of management and treatment of occupational illness/injury and return to work. All workers in the province will benefit from the research findings as well as improved curriculum and continuing education for occupational medicine.
